Meet the Author
The story telling bug bit me in grade school. Maybe because I was a shy kid, I entertained myself with the stories that filled my head. I relished the school projects that allowed me to spill my make-believe worlds onto the page. An afternoon spent in the library surrounded by books was heaven.
Somewhere in my teen years, I got distracted. Sports (basketball and volleyball) and music (clarinet) consumed my life outside the classroom. I started college as a music major, then switched to accounting after I discovered that, while I was a decent clarinet player, I was not a good musician.
For decades, I dreamt of putting the stories that churned in my head on paper. Finally, I gave myself a good kick and did. Although, between work and life, it took ten years from the time I started working on An Impossible Promise for the book to be completed and published. Hope, Tears, and Dreams on the Way West took half that time. Progress, right?
Always restless, I’ve lived in Colorado, Oregon, California, Idaho, and Washington States. In 2016 I returned to the very windy town of Ellensburg in Central Washington to take care of my mother. I love the community but hate the wind. Now that she’s passed there will likely be another move in my future—somewhere with warm, calm, sunny days.
When not writing, I enjoy hanging out with my dogs who rule my life—Charlie my sweet, White German Shepherd, and Ginger, my hyper-active, neurotic Goldendoodle. A perfect day for me starts with either a run or a hike (and coffee) and ends curled up on the sofa with a good book.
